Summer Term News

Balloon Race

The Big Race happens on Friday 10th June. Deadline for Entry forms has passed - but don’t worry, if you didn’t get your forms in on time there will be the opportunity to buy a balloon on the day. Time of release to be confirmed but will be toward the end of the day. The Race ends on the day of the Summer Fair when the winner for the balloon that travels the furthest will be announced.

Summer Fair – The Garden Party - 12-3pm, Sat 2nd July

The biggest event in the PiP Calendar is almost upon us, it promises to be bigger and more fabulous than usual with new stalls and activities. As always we will need your help on the day, but we also need your help in the run up to the fair to make it all happen - please speak to your rep or come to a meeting to find out how you can help.

How You Can Help With The Summer Fair:

Toys & Book Stall - Are you having a spring clear out? Please hang onto your toys and books until after half term and we will happily take them off your hands.

Tombola - Do you have any new & unwanted gifts for the tombola stall? Again please bring them in after half term.

Food - Will of course be themed around The Garden Party. We need donations on the day of cold finger food. If you are unsure about what to bring then please speak to Year 1 reps, Tracy and Jenny or Miss Nasima.

Cream Teas and Cakes - What Garden party wouldn’t have cream tea and cakes? Certainly not ours! We need an army of bakers to supply scones and cakes for the day. Speak to Year 1 reps Tracy and Jenny if you can help with this.

New!! Jam and Chutney Stall - Why not have a go at making some delicious home-made preserves? PiP will supply Jars and also have some very easy recipes if you don’t have Grandma’s recipe stashed in your kitchen.

NEW!! Children’s Miniature Garden Competition - Please find websites that will help you make your very own miniature garden. More details to follow but why not get inspired and check out the sites below:

Balloon Race starts on Friday 10th June

Exciting news, new this term, PiP are hosting a Balloon Race!

The Race will start on Friday 10th June when all the balloons will be released from the playground. Each balloon costs £1.50 and children are encouraged to sell to their friends, family and neighbours.

The race will end on the day of the Summer Fair which is Saturday 2nd July. The winning ticket will be the balloon that has travelled the furthest and the prize will be a computer! We will plot on a map the balloons as they are returned, and see how far they go - hopefully, they'll travel as far as France!

Keep an eye out in children's bags for full details of how to enter, and please note: we must have all money and entry forms by Thursday 19th May.

We are very grateful to Enterprise Rent A Car for sponsoring this event. Thank you!

HAPPY BALLOONING AND GOOD LUCK!!
