About PiP

'PiP is a committed and dedicated team that works tirelessly to support the school, and I would encourage all parents to be involved as much as they can. Your help really makes a difference!'
Annie Williams, Head Teacher, Holy Trinity & St Silas

Parents in Partnership (PiP) is a fundraising organisation formed by the parents of children at Holy Trinity & Saint Silas School. The money raised by PiP goes towards school activities such as trips to museums and theatres, fun days out and residential trips for the older children. Without this contribution the school could not afford to offer such a range of exciting activities free of charge and many simply would not take place, so PiP plays a vital role in supporting learning and making school as stimulating and enjoyable as possible for all our children.

You don’t need any special qualifications or experience to join PiP – we welcome everyone who is willing to get involved.

Each school year has two parents who act as PiP representatives; they attend PiP meetings and feed back news about upcoming events to the rest of the year and let everyone know how they can help out. If you have any questions about PiP or upcoming events, or want to know how you can get involved, just have a chat with your year rep. You can find their photos either side of this text.

PiP raises funds throughout the school year by hosting a variety of fun events. These include cake sales, bingo evenings, a summer and a Christmas fair, and much, much more. You can see what we have planned for this school year by checking the PiP News Calendar.

These events are only made possible by the immense generosity of our school community. Parents, staff and children give both their time and money to help make these events happen and many local businesses kindly donate gifts and services too. The more people that get involved, the better we can make every single event and the more money we can raise, so if you think you would like to help out, just speak to your year rep or come along to one of the PiP meetings (see the PiP News Calendar). In addition to helping the school it can be a lot of fun!

Cake sales take place at least once every half term, and are one of PiP’s most popular events. You can find the date of the next cake sale on the PiP News Calendar but notes also go out in school bags a week or so beforehand to give you time to get baking. All your cakes, whether home-made or shop-bought, can be delivered to the school on the morning of the sale and are then sold in the playground at the end of the school day. Fairy cakes, brownies, biscuits, flapjacks and any other cake that can be munched while walking home from school are especially popular. Top tip: to avoid the inevitable scrum of ravenous schoolchildren (and a few parents) try coming a little early and buying your cakes before the school bell rings for the end of the day!

Everyone is welcome to come along to the PiP meetings. You don’t need any special qualifications or experience – just a willingness to get involved. We would love to hear any ideas you may have about upcoming events or ways you could help out. The meetings are also a good way to meet other parents. And as if that wasn’t enough of an incentive, there are always tea and biscuits on offer. We look forward to seeing you there!
